Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Buffalo man stands accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend, killing that man last month.
Prosecutors say there was an order of protection against 30-year-old Abouycea D. Thornton when he fought the man on Berkshire Avenue on September 17th, beating the 29 year old victim with a metal pipe and assaulting the woman.
The male victim died at ECMC, the woman has since recovered.
Thornton is charged iwth murder, assault and aggravated criminal contempt.
He continues to remain held without bail.
If convicted of the highest charge, Thornton faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
