BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) Heavy metal rocker Metallica is returning to Highmark Stadium.
Metallica will perform at the home of the Buffalo Bills, on August 11. Greta Van Fleet and Ice Nine Kills will open the concert in Orchard Park.
Tickets will go on sale March 4 at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster; prices are not yet available and may fluctuate with demand. Presale tickets will be available Feb. 28 to Legacy Fan Club members at 9 a.m. and General Fan Club members at 11 a.m.
Metallica last played Buffalo at KeyBank Center in 2018. They last played the stadium 30 years ago, in 1992, with Guns'N Roses and Faith No More.
The stadium last hosted Billy Joel in August. Past concerts also include The Rolling Stones, One Direction, U2 and Beyoncé/Jay-Z.
In addition to Buffalo, Metallica currently has one other U.S. stadium concert scheduled this summer: Aug. 14 at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. The band also has two festivals booked in Europe, and a show in Las Vegas.
Highmark Stadium is hosting another big concert this summer: Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe will perform at the Bills' stadium on Aug. 10 with Poison and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster.
