East Aurora, N.Y. (WBEN) - Moog announcing a major expansion to their Space and Defense program. The expansion now gives more room for the ability to enhance its manufacturing capabilities for space and defense customers that need precision steering in the most demanding domains.

"This new facility opens exciting opportunities,” said Nicole Wodka-Cook, Space Actuation and Avionics General Manager. "With increased capacity and enhanced research and development capabilities, Moog is well-positioned to meet evolving customer needs and deliver the high-quality products they expect and is another example of how Moog shapes the way our world moves."

Moog working with many developers in the space program like NASA. Their work helps control rockets that go into space and stay on point for a successful mission.

"The first thing this facility provides is extra room to grow to meet a lot of our customers needs." Wodka-Cook said. "But the second piece is this really gives us the opportunity to optimize our production flow and layout and do it in a really efficient way."

The expansion of the facility also includes more jobs, Wodka-Cook expects there to be between 100, and 150 jobs opening with Moog over the next five years.

“This focused factory reflects a major investment in a sustainable future at Moog, expanding our ability to deliver innovative, mission-critical solutions for aerospace and defense customers," said Jonathan Kasper, Operations Transformation Manager.
