Motorcyclist injured in Friday morning crash in Amherst

The operator of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and is still receiving treatment at ECMC

Amherst, N.Y. (WBEN) - Police in Amherst are investigating a crash Friday morning involving a passenger car and a motorcycle.

At approximately 9:19 a.m., the Amherst Police Department responded to the incident that took place at the intersection of Main Street and Campus Drive.

The operator of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries, and was transported by Twin City Ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, where they are remain hospitalized for treatment.

Meanwhile, the operator of the passenger vehicle was also transported to ECMC for further evaluation.

Main Street was shut down for a while Friday morning to allow for investigators to recreate the scene.
