Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo RiverWorks will be packed this Saturday with musicians of all genres and artists of all kinds at the 21st Music Is Art festival. Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls says it's a special event for him.
Takac tells WBEN Music Is Art is an event that's put together from the hearts of the creative community in Buffalo.
"It's a moment where no matter what you do, there is room for you with this event," explains Takac.
He notes 500 bands applied, but only 250 were chosen to take part.
Takac says there's a tremendous amount of creativity at this annual event, he can't entirely classify it.
"You see the amount of art, hear the amount of music, and also we've engaged the theatre community, we've engaged the wrestling community, we've engaged the local skating community this year. You know, we just try to leave the doors open for anybody who wants to come and be creative," Takac said.
The event is at Buffalo RiverWorks and free to the public. Takac says the event has expanded over the years.
"We've also been at RiverFest Park, which is across the river, from RiverWorks, and we have both shuttles that go back and forth there all day," he said. "This year, we're actually expanding even further into that neighborhood, which is starting to wake up unbelievably right now with resurgence brewery down there and Hartman's."
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. ET on Sunday.
