
Springville, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Silver Creek man was arrested in the Village of Springville on Tuesday by Erie County Sheriff's deputies after a traffic stop and subsequent investigation.
Just before midnight on Tuesday, a patrol officer in the village initiated a traffic stop due to the vehicle having no front plate and tinted front windows.
Upon contacting the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle, 23-year-old Joseph Miller, the officer observed a clear plastic baggie on the driver side floor board. After removing Miller from the vehicle, the patrol officer observed an additional clear plastic baggie located near the front of the driver seat and another clear plastic baggie with a powder residue in the driver side door panel.
Miller was detained and a narcotics investigation ensued.
During the investigation, Miller stated he was in possession of cocaine, and eluded to its location on himself. He was taken into custody and processed at the Springville Substation.
Miller was charged with the following:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine) in the Fifth Degree (Class "D" felony);
- Multiple Vehicle and Traffic Violations.
Miller was processed and released on a desk appearance ticket and uniform traffic tickets.
