BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - The latest data from Erie County released Saturday morning shows 410 people were in a county hospital on Thursday and three people died.
There were 379 people in a hospital on Wednesday.
68 people are in the intensive care unit. ICU capacity is becoming the focus of health and elected officials trying to mitigate the spread of the disease.
"As of December 2, 78% of all hospital beds in Erie County were full," Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said Friday. "I believe the ICU beds were down to a little over 40% available. That is both the worst totals we've seen in quite some time in our region."
