AMHERST, N.Y. (WBEN).....For the second time in recent months, a brand name hotel near the University of Buffalo's Amherst campus has sold.

According to documents filed in the Erie County Clerk's office, SH Hotel Group LLC - an affiliate of Ellicott Development Co. - sold the 107-room Fairfield Inn & Suites at 3880 Rensch Road to GP Hospitality Management. The deal is GP Hospitality's first in the Buffalo Niagara region.

SH Hotel developed the four-story Fairfield Inn & Suites a decade ago as part of mixed-use retail and residential complex along Sweet Home and Rensch Roads and just west of the UB campus.

The bulk of the hotel's customer base includes those visiting, or have some connection to UB, or business connections with some of the surrounding office parks.

The hotel's amenities include more than 103 dedicated parking space, a fitness center and pool.

As part of the Marriott chain, the hotel offers free breakfast for its guests.

The hotel's Marriott affiliation runs through 2038.

The deal follows another Amherst hotel near the UB campus that was sold earlier this spring.

The Studio 6 Extended Stay hotel on Inn Keepers Lane sold for $11.8 million. The hotel has 119 rooms and also caters to those bound for UB or nearby office parks.
