Blasdell, N.Y. (WBEN) - New York State Police are investigating the drowning death of a Lackawanna teenager at Woodlawn Beach on Monday.

Police say 16-year-old Aiden Walden was seen struggling while swimming, prompting observers to intervene and pull him to shore.
The beach goers immediately began life-saving efforts before the Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company arrived at the scene to continue the rescue effort.
Walden was transported to Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, where he was declared deceased.
