Niagara Falls, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Niagara Falls teacher placed on leave for making an inappropriate joke has been relieved of duties, according to the school superintendent.

The teacher had been placed on leave for, what was described as, a racist joke at Gasport Prep this past Friday.

Superintendent Mark Laurrie tells WBEN the teacher was a second-year science teacher who had not earned tenure.
