BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) – Governor Andrew Cuomo is planning to implement a winter plan to battle coronavirus.

Few details about the plan were released, though the governor said the plan will begin in December and last through February. He said this plan will prioritize the areas with the highest infection rates with the highest hospitalization rates. Governor Cuomo said he wants to keep schools open, especially students in grades K-8.

There was no upgrade of the micro-cluster for Western New York. Most of Erie County remains in an orange zone and others are still in the yellow zone. The City of North Tonawanda in Niagara County is also on a yellow zone.

Governor Cuomo reiterated his comments that it will take months for a vaccine to be distributed to all New Yorkers.
