BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) – New York State has officially launched the "Office of Cannabis Management", the regulatory wing of state government tasks with implementing rules for marijuana in New York State.
The website will outline marijuana regulations in New York State, including licensing, cultivation, production, distribution, sale, and taxation of medical and adult-use of marijuana and cannabis. The website also provides information for people seeking help with medical cannabis practitioners and caregivers.
"Legalizing cannabis was the first step in this historic endeavor to right the wrongs of the past," Governor Cuomo said.
"The Office of Cannabis Management's website provides critical preliminary information pending the creation of the Cannabis Control Board about the future of this industry as well as resources for individuals and businesses seeking information on the future of cannabis in New York State. The website outlines the comprehensive reforms this legislation enacts, and I know will be a valued resource for many as we move forward."
Lawmakers legalized the adult-use of cannabis, including the recreational use of marijuana. Part of the bill was to create this office and a Cannabis Control Board.
