Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A little bit of Munich will come to the Electric District of Buffalo next month as Oktoberfest takes place.

Presented by the Buffalo Holiday Market, the event will take place Thursday through Saturday every week from Oct. 1 to 30 on East Mohawk Street between Ellicott and Washington streets. Admission is free, and the event will feature live music, food, local vendors, activities, and a beer garden.

“A thriving downtown needs places where people want to spend time, gather with friends, and support local businesses,” said Mayor Sean Ryan. “Buffalo Oktoberfest will give residents and visitors another reason to come downtown and give our small businesses more opportunities to reach new customers. I thank the Buffalo Holiday Market and our downtown partners for helping make it happen.”

“Downtown activation is about giving people a reason to come downtown and experience everything our city has to offer all year,” said Fillmore District Council Member Mitch Nowakowski. “The Buffalo Oktoberfest is a great example of how we can bring new life to our public spaces while creating opportunities for local businesses and building momentum around a more vibrant downtown. I'm grateful to the event organizers and participants for their efforts in creating this event."

"Buffalo Oktoberfest is about bringing the city of good neighbors together in the heart of downtown, and Buffalo Holiday Market is thrilled to be a part of it,” said Colleen Pandy, Executive Director of Buffalo Holiday Market. “There are 25 chalets for vendors that will rotate on a daily basis throughout the course of the celebration so that every day and every visit offers something different. Guests can enjoy Pretzalo, Mohawk Place, Buffalo Collective, live music, a beer garden and so much more."

Some additional vendors include Liz's Nuts, Mad Sauces, Bean Bastard, Novas Gifted Creations, Glass Menagerie, Imagination of Robert Walker, Sunshine Designz, Jess Esthetics, and Barrel and Brine.
