Olcott, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Niagara County Department of Health has determined the water at Olcott Beach is not suitable for swimming due to high levels of bacteria.
The health department said officials will continue to monitor the situation closely and reopen the beach when water conditions return to a safe level.
The health department tests beaches and bathing areas in Niagara County weekly throughout the summer to determine whether water quality could pose a health risk.
