ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WBEN)... For the second time this week and 31st time this year a private residence in Erie County has sold for more than $1 million.
In the latest deal, a newly-constructed house at 5 Woodbine Court in Orchard Park sold for $1.25 million. The house was developed by local developer Thomas Johnson.
For Orchard Park, the deal marks the fourth time since the beginning of the year that a house in that town has sold for more than $1 million.
Erie County is pacing at seeing a house sell for north of $1 million once every four days and, by year's end, as many as 85 homes may have sold for above the $1 million sales mark.
Last year, Erie County set a record with 105 homes that sold for more than $1 million, which is considered a key economic benchmark within the region's residential real estate industry.
