Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - An Orchard Park man is going to jail after stealing a total of $279,272.92 from an elderly family member and a little league baseball team.
Between January 2018 and June 2022, 56-year-old Bradley Hudak stole $269,272.92 from the victim's retirement account, and an additional $10,000 designated for the victim's funeral. Hudak was serving as the person's power of attorney during the time of the theft. It's not known what the relationship was between Hudak and the victim.
Hudak also confessed to stealing more than $3,000 from the Southtowns Shock, a little league baseball team he was coaching. He used all of the money for personal expenses.
Hudak pled guilty to second and third degree Grand Larceny, both felonies. As part of his plea Hudak must pay back the entire amount of stolen money to the elderly victim. The Erie County District Attorney's office says none of the money has been paid back yet.
Hudak received an indeterminate sentence of 1-to-3 years in prison.
