Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - Surprise, surprise - Erie County notched another $1 million-plus home sale and, it is in Orchard Park.

It is the town's 22nd $1 million-plus home sale this year, compared to last year when it recorded 17 $1 million-plus home sales for the entire year.


In the latest deal: A five-bedroom, 25-year-old house at 36 Birdsong Parkway sold for $1.15 million, according to documents filed July 22 in the Erie County Clerk's office.

Clarence also has seen 22 homes in the town sell for more than $1 million this year.

Combined, Clarence and Orchard Park account for nearly 73% of the 60 $1 million-plus home sales recorded this year in the county clerk's office.

With a $1 million-plus home sale recorded once every 3.4 days by the county clerk's office, Erie County is on a pace to see 107 home sales this year where the price exceeds the $1 million benchmark.

The sale of homes going for north of $1 million is considered a key economic indicator in the region's residential real estate industry.
