Orchard Park, NY (WBEN) Orchard Park Supervisor Patrick Keem will be resigning next week, citing health concerns his wife is dealing with.
"I need to be more available to be with her more each day, so unfortunately I have to resign as Orchard Park supervisor," says Keem, whose wife is dealing with a chronic illness.
Keem says he hopes the board can re-establish the deputy supervisor position, which was eliminated in 2002, during a work session Thursday. "Then next Wednesday, I have the authority to name a deputy supervisor who would serve administrative duties only, no power to vote," leaving the other two board members with votes.
Keem says he's proud of the new community center that's been build, and believes growth will continue and the town is in good hands.
Keem was first elected supervisor in 2013.
