Lancaster, N.Y. (WBEN) - Cutting edge, state-of-the-art technology is fueling a major expansion by a Lancaster-based dental implant firm.

And with its expansion plans, Osseo Pure Inc. expects to see its local employment grow by ten-fold and its Walden Avenue headquarters becoming a national training center for dentists and those who work in the dentistry industry.

But the $3.2 million expansion project hinges on two key factors:

- Approval from the FDA on the company's digital dental implant technology and process.
- A series of tax breaks from the Lancaster Industrial Development Agency.

Both are anticipated by early December.

"My hope is that we can bring a lot of business to Buffalo and Lancaster," said Waldemar Blaszek, Osseo Pure CEO.

The expansion may also lead towards another Blaszek-owned firm, Pure Dental, building a 9,000-square-foot dental surgery center on Main Street in Amherst.

"Bringing new jobs and investment to the region is very important to Waldy," said Mark Lazzara, Osseo Pure consultant.

Blaszek said he plans on shifting dental implant manufacturing operations from Ocean City, Calif. to Osseo Pure's Lancaster headquarters.

Osseo Pure's Lancaster employment could jump from 10 current employees to 100 by 2030, Blaszek said.

"It will be a major boost for the region," Blaszek said.

Construction, pending various approvals, is slated to start in early January with the expansion due to be completed by late next year.
