Town of Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - Police in the Town of Tonawanda are investigating after a man was struck and killed by an Amtrak train just north of Sheridan Drive near Military Road Wednesday night.

Town of Tonawanda Police responded to the scene around 10:38 p.m. and found 63-year-old Michael Lukacz of Tonawanda dead at the scene.


Police believe Lukacz was trying to walk across the train tracks when he was struck.

The Amtrak train was on its way to Niagara Falls and passengers were on board. No passengers or crew were injured.
