Cheektowaga, N.Y. (WBEN) - A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a truck along the Eastbound lanes of Walden Avenue over the New York State Thruway on Friday afternoon, Cheektowaga Police say.
When officers and an ambulance from American Medical Response (AMR) arrived on scene, they discovered the pedestrian was deceased. At this time, the pedestrian has not been identified.
An full investigation is ongoing into the cause of the accident that left the section of Walden Avenue and the Thruway interchanges closed for hours.
It is believed the pedestrian stepped off of the curb in front of the truck.
