Pedestrian struck, killed by Postal Service truck in East Aurora

East Aurora, N.Y. (WBEN) - A 79-year-old woman was struck and killed by a United States Postal Service truck in East Aurora on Sunday morning.

The crash happened at 10:02 a.m. ET at the intersection of Main Street and Olean Road. The victim, Mary Kerwin, was crossing Main Street, while the Postal Service truck was turning right off of Olean when it hit Kerwin.

The victim was taken by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center, where she would later die from her injuries.

Police say the driver was uninjured and cooperated at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
