BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) – Another state lawmaker has spoken out in the wake of ongoing sexual harassment allegations against Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Assembly Majority Leader Crystal Peoples-Stokes is the latest local voice to comment publicly.

"With great power comes great responsibility," Peoples-Stokes, a democrat, said. "As a longtime public servant, this quote is what I live by. It reminds me that in my position, I must hold myself to the highest standard. Governor Cuomo is required to do the same. If the allegations of the past few days are true, he has failed to hold himself to this standard, and no one, including the governor, has the right to do such things with impunity."

Peoples-Stokes said the allegations should be thoroughly and independently investigated and has "complete confidence" that Attorney General Letitia James will find the truth.

Criticism continues to grow for the governor after a third sexual harassment allegation was made Monday night by a woman in New York City, who claimed the governor touched her face and back and asked to kiss her moments after they met at a wedding reception. Two former aides also came out publicly last week.

New York Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacobs released the following statement:
