Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Former political operative Steve Pigeon was sentenced to 4 months in prison for his role in directing an illegal campaign contribution. That contribution went to then-Governor Andrew Cuomo's campaign.
Pigeon admitted to helping direct a $25,000 campaign contribution from a Canadian to Cuomo, which is illegal. Pigeon's attorney Paul Cambria tells WBEN there was an argument over the sentence. "The government wanted 4 months, we wanted probation," says Cambria.
Pigeon reported to custody immediately after sentencing. "He wanted to get the time over with," says Cambria.
