Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - "Pizza is our number one seller every day of the year, but on Super Bowl Sunday, we see a 100% increase in wing orders," said Walt Smietana Marketing Director for Franco's Pizza in the Buffalo area.
They expect to sell over 40,000 wings on Sunday, which is a huge
jump over any other day.
"Pizza is still a huge business, but wings are astronomical on that day," he said.
Wings are not just mild, medium and hot.
"16 varieties at our locations," Smietana added. "Medium is No. 1, followed by barbeque."
Pizzas can be traditional, or gluten free, gourmet, or veggie.
If you really want your food at a certain time, he suggests that you pre-order it. There will be a last-minute rush on Sunday, as he says there always is.
"I strongly recommend getting your food order in early. Our food reheats beautifully. Get it at 11 a.m. or noon, and then re-heat it and then you won't miss anything later on."
They're not just getting ready for the Super Bowl. Valentine's Day is coming up on Wednesday.
"We know we're going to sell a lot of pizza on Sunday, but we know we are going to sell almost as much, if not more on Wednesday because of the heart shaped pizza explosion that's occurred over the past couple of years. Everyone loves to open a box and see a heart-shaped pizza."
