Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - A pair of 19-year-olds were arrested on Thursday after they were caught stealing a vehicle that traveled to the Town of Tonawanda.
According to the Town of Tonawanda Police Department, officers responded to the area of Highland Avenue near Parkhurst Boulevard at approximately 8:45 p.m. ET on Thursday in response to a stolen vehicle investigation.
While assisting the Buffalo Police Department, the Erie County Sheriff's Office Helicopter had visual observation of a stolen vehicle that had been operating in the City of Buffalo and then drove into Tonawanda. The suspects then fled from the vehicle after entering the town.
Buffalo Police Officers were on scene and had one of the suspects detained. Town of Tonawanda Police Officer Justin Okun later located a second suspect in the area, and was able to take him into custody.
The suspects were identified as 19-year-old Kevin Tucker and 19-year-old Darrel Cook, both of the Town of Tonawanda.
Tucker and Cook were taken into custody, where both were charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree (Class "D" felony), and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree (Class "E" felony).
They were held for arraignment in Town of Tonawanda Court scheduled for Friday.
