Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Mark Poloncarz is re-affirming that he is not running for another term as Erie County Executive.

There was a question if he was considering it after an appeal online is taking donations to take part in a "Mark Poloncarz for Erie County Executive" fundraiser at a Buffalo Bisons game this September. Tickets to attend the event range from $100 to $2,500.

A spokesperson for the county executive told WBEN that nothing has changed in Poloncarz's stance.

"The county executive will be hosting an event with the Buffalo Bisons on Sept. 3 to gather with supporters and raise funds," the spokesperson for the County Executive said in a statement. "As the leader of the Democratic Party in Erie County, County Executive Poloncarz obviously needs funds to pay for expenses and to support candidates he endorses. Just as he has indicated in the past, he has no plans to run for another term as county executive."

The county executive said in the lead up to the 2023 election he would not run again if re-elected.

"I'm saying right now, if the people give me the opportunity to serve one more term, this will be the last time I ever run for county executive," Poloncarz said in September of 2023.

Poloncarz has served as county executive since 2012, and is currently serving his fourth term in office.
