Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The 12th annual Cherry Blossom festival is being held at the Buffalo History Museum over the weekend. Admission to the event is free on the 26th and 27.

This is the first time in years that the cherry blossom trees are blooming at the same time as the festival. Manager of guest services and retail Kelsey Reed expects to see a lot of people over the weekend.

"We are very excited." Reed said. "It's been quite a few years since the trees have bloomed later in April, so a lot of people have been used to them blooming early April maybe the end of March the last few years and this year its been timed perfectly."

There will be many different acts that will be at the festival over the weekend and many food vendors as well.

"We all come together and put together different cultural performers, music and band performers that'll be both inside the museum, in our auditorium, along with some outdoor stages on the portico and down a little bit in the garden itself. Reed said. "We'll have vendors with artisans, local artisans, and also some local nonprofits will also be inside."
