West Seneca, N.Y. (WBEN) - The 44th annual Queen of Heaven Carnival begins this weekend. The carnival runs from Friday July 11 starting at 5pm, noon till midnight Saturday, and noon till 9pm on Sunday.
"Obviously, this is one of the biggest carnivals in the area. We have a great mix of rides, games, food options." Said Chairwoman of the carnival Emily Melski. "Entertainment under our beer tent and our beer garden, we have a chicken and rib dinner. So there's really something for everyone."
The carnival running during the Taste of Buffalo, Melski speaking with WBEN on the uniqueness of the Queen of Heaven Carnival and what makes it such a great weekend event.
"The community just loves things to do on summer weekends, when the weather is nice, we have different options with the rye games, entertainment features here and really as a community event, people from the parish, from West Seneca and the surrounding communities plan their reunions around this. They like to meet their friends here." Melski said. "They pick a band they want to see, and that's what really makes us unique, because we have a lot to offer, and everyone picks their favorite part of it and comes and enjoys it."
The funding for the carnival will help out the capital improvements to the building and other improvements for the church and school.
