Sardinia man facing drugs, weapons charges following arrest

Sardinia, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Erie County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 35-year-old Kierian Phalen of Sardinia following an investigation by the Narcotics and Intelligence Unit.

At approximately 4 p.m. on Monday, deputies executed a search warrant of a residence on S. Protection Road in Sardinia. Phalen was located in the driveway of the address, where metal knuckles were recovered from his person.

During the execution of the search warrant, deputies recovered a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, D-Amphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.

After being placed in a patrol vehicle, Phalen attempted to break off his handcuffs using a metal partition in the vehicle, causing damage to both the handcuffs and the metal partition.

Phalen was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center, where he faces a litany of charges including:

- Three separate counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance;
- One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon
- One count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia
- One count of Criminal Mischief
- One count of Attempted Escape
