NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WBEN)........For the second time in recent months, Seneca Gaming Corp. is making a major investment to upgrade one of its amenities at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino.
Construction has started on the revamped Seneca Sports Lounge inside the Niagara Falls gaming, entertainment and hospitality complex.
The new Seneca Sports Lounge - a nearly $9 million investment by Seneca Gaming - is being built out where the former Blues Burger Bar and 8 Clans Gift Shop stood in Seneca Niagara's west concourse.
The new lounge will serve as a dual gateway - one into the casino proper and the other into the Bear's Den concert and special event venue. It is expected to make its debut in May 2027.
"We are building on the energy and excitement that Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino is known for and making it even bigger and bolder," said Kevin Nephew, Seneca Resorts & Casinos president and CEO.
Among the design elements in the new lounge:
* A premium bar with seating for 21 people.
* A sportsbook lounge with club lounge chairs and a walk-up bar.
* Sportsbook bettering counter and betting kiosks
* A 115-person, sit-down restaurant.
* A 98-foor long video wall.
* Sports themed elements including memorabilia display cases.
* Lacrosse-inspired design elements.
"We know what game-day energy feels like," Nephew said.
Work on the Seneca Lounge project comes as Seneca Gaming is in the early stages of a $47 million upgrade to 594 rooms in Seneca Niagara hotel.
That project should be completed by December 2027.
