Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The man who's spending 40 years-to-life for two murders and facing a third murder charge now says he killed another person, his grandmother, nearly a half century ago.
Town of Brant police say they worked with the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office as they investigated the murders of Marquita Mull and Cassandra Watson, they were alerted to the cold case murder of Beatrice Meabon, who was found stabbed to death in her home on Cain Road in 1976.
Police say her grandson, Richard Fox, slipped some information about that death, and later admitted he killed Meabon.
Police say because of laws at the time, and the fact he was a juvenile, Fox will not be charged. However, police hope this will bring closure to family and friends.
Fox is serving his sentence for killing Mull and Watson, and he's also been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 32-year-old Crystal Curthoys.
