Shea's cancels three performances of 'Hamilton' due to COVID-19

The final three days of the show this weekend are currently still on as scheduled

Due to breakthrough COVID-19 cases within the company of "Hamilton", Shea's Performing Arts Center announced late Tuesday afternoon the cancellation of that evening's performance.

Nearly three hours later, Shea's announced the cancellation of additional shows on Wednesday, Dec. 29 and Thursday, Dec. 30.

"In the ongoing effort to ensure the well-being of the cast, crew and audiences, the Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m. EST and Thursday, Dec. 30 at 7:30 p.m. EST performances of 'Hamilton' have been canceled," said Shea's in a statement on Tuesday.

"On behalf of everyone at 'Hamilton' and Shea's Performing Arts Center, we apologize for the disappointment and for any inconvenience this may cause."

Shea's went on to say that all future performances of"Hamilton" are scheduled to go on as planned. This includes a total of five shows this weekend:

- Friday, Dec. 31 - 7:30 p.m. EST
- Saturday, Jan. 1 - 2 p.m. EST
- Saturday, Jan. 1 - 8 p.m. EST
- Sunday, Jan. 2 - 1 p.m. EST
- Sunday, Jan. 2 - 7 p.m. EST

Patrons have been instructed to contact their point of purchase to exchange tickets for an alternate performance or receive a refund. Shea's says the best availability for an exchange is Friday, Dec. 31, or the evening shows on both Saturday, Jan. 1 and Sunday, Jan. 2.

Shea's said that any tickets purchased from Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded for customers.

When reaching out to Shea's, they said they are working hard to prepare for this weekend's final performances of "Hamilton".
