Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Shea's Performing Arts Center and presenting partner Albert Nocciolino on Wednesday announced the lineup for the 2026-27 Broadway season.
The season will open with the Tony Award-winning musical "Buena Vista Social Club."
Other shows in the lineup include Alicia Keys' "Hell's Kitchen," "The Sound of Music," "The Great Gatsby," "Death Becomes Her" and "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child."
Producer Albert Nocciolino told WBEN he thinks one show that will resonate locally, because it's the first time Shea's has hosted a play in a very long time,
is Harry Potter.
"It's a big beautiful, majestic show and I think it will bring new audiences. I'm very excited about it."
Harry Potter and Buena Vista Social Club will be in Buffalo for about a month. Each show will be "teched" in Buffalo, which is when staging, lighting, sound, and choreography, all come together before the show opening. Buffalo is also the national tour launch site for both productions.
"That's a big deal for us. When tours open in upstate New York, they're eligible for tax credits. They spend three or four weeks here. There's over a hundred cast and crew. They're staying in our hotels and eating in our restaurants. It's a huge economic impact," added Nocciolino.
Three additional productions will be part of the Gallagher 2026-27 Encore Series.

- The Great Gatsby: Nov. 10 – 15, 2026

- Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: March 31 – April 8, 2027
- Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical: June 22 – 27, 2027
Gallagher '26-'27 Encore Series Includes:
- Beetlejuice: March 5-7, 2027
- Jersey Boys: May 18 – 23, 2027
- Six: June 8 – 13, 2027
Tickets are currently available only through season subscription packages. Single-show tickets and tickets for the Gallagher Encore Series will go on sale at a later date.
