Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Nov. 27 is "Cyber Monday", a big day for e-tailers in the wake of Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.

One retail tells WBEN that Cyber Monday will be bigger than this past holiday weekend's Black Friday and there are several reasons why.

"Monday will be bigger than Black Friday for the second year in a row," says Burt Flickinger of Strategic Resources. He says Cyber Monday should lead to $15 billion dollars in sales. But he says American retailers have catching up to do. "But compared to Alibaba in the People's Republic of China, Singles Day, on Nov. 11, Alibaba did close to 50 billion so there should be more cyber Mondays for the companies like Amazon," notes Flickinger.

Flickinger says some would-be brick and mortar shoppers are concerned for their well being. "Price Waterhouse Coopers put out a report that close to 40% of consumers are afraid of public safety and while Kroger, Target and Costco have very good public safety in my professional view, Walmart does not. Low to no security in the stores, fights and all kinds of dire consequences, so people are concerned about shopping in public so they're shifting more to cyber," explains Flickinger.

Flickinger adds shoppers are outsmarting retailers. "The longer people wait through Cyber Monday, through Christmas and Hanukkah and New Year's Day, the better the bargains will be because the retailers are doing desperation discounting so as the closer we get to New Years, the better the bargains," says Flickinger. He predicts bargains will be the biggest in history.
