On Sunday, the risk of severe thunderstorms will expand northward from portions of Georgia and the Carolinas through New York state and into western New England.
The potential for showers and thunderstorms will increase Sunday across the Western New York region, some of which may produce strong gusty winds and heavy rainfall.

Any storms that do develop have the potential to become strong to severe with the primary risk damaging wind gusts, National Weather Service forecasters say.
Showers and storms will end this evening and tonight as the stormy front passes through, with a much cooler air mass spilling in across the Lower Lakes beginning Monday, when the high temperature won't get out of the 60's.
