Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - There are a lot of tails wagging at the SPCA Serving Erie County after Wednesday's annual Radiothon.

At the end of the 12-hour event, SPCA Chief Communications Officer Gina Lattuca announced that just over $112,000 had been donated by the Western New York community.

"We were thrilled to announce $112,000. But I'm even more thrilled to announce today that the total has climbed even higher," Lattuca said during an appearance on WBEN this Friday. "We are at $120,000 from the community for the Radiothon. We are beyond thankful to every single person who contributed in some way."

Lattuca credits a strong connection between the community and the SPCA.

"It's the one place where we do it all. Dog rescues, cat rescues, adoptions, farm animals. We have a fully outfitted wildlife rehabilitation center. No other place does all of this," she added.

The annual event often turns into an adoptathon. The shelter received a transport of puppies just before the Radiothon and Lattuca said they still have a few puppies left, since the shelter was closed Thursday due to a snow day.
You can check the adoptable animals HERE.

People can still give to the Radiothon until 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday at yourspca.org.

The SPCA Radiothon was dedicated to the memory of WBEN News and Traffic anchor Allan Harris, who died last weekend.

News Radio 930 WBEN and sister station 107.7 The Wolf sponsored the 22nd annual Radiothon for the SPCA Serving Erie County.
