Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Springville man will spend Thanksgiving behind bars after Erie County Sheriff's deputies say he sexually abused a child.
After an investigation that started in September, Sheriff's deputies arrested 65-year-old Joseph Decker, who is accused of engaging in acts of sexual conduct with a child who was less than 13-years-old between on or about June 20, 2024, and on or about September 19, 2025. The defendant was known to the victim.
Decker is charged with predatory sexual assault against a child, course of sexual conduct against a child, sexual abuse, endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Decker was arraigned is currently being held without bail at the Erie County Holding Center. Temporary orders of protection were issued on behalf of the victim and other associated parties.
If convicted of the highest charge, Decker faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.
