BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) – The New York State Department of Health is looking at an “experimental model” to bring some Buffalo Bills fans into the stadium in January, Governor Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday morning.
“We are talking to the Bills,” Cuomo said. “We are researching teams and protocols across the nation. The Department of Health is looking at an ‘experimental model’ of working with data and testing to see if there’s any way we could safely allow some fans into the game. We’re working with the Bills. It’s all a work in progress.”
The governor said he has visited the stadium many times and is familiar with its design.
“I would like to be at that game – a playoff game – as much as anyone,” Cuomo said during a conference call. “This has been a long time coming for Buffalo, and there are no fans like Buffalo Bills fans.”
He did not give additional details on what data will determine whether or not fans will be allowed into the game next month.
