BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Governor Andrew Cuomo is still looking into whether or not to allow fans to watch a Buffalo Bills game at Bills Stadium this season.

During a Monday afternoon phone call with reporters, the governor reiterated his Sunday comments about state officials examining what has been done at other stadiums across the league.

"We have sent people to other states to observe what their stadiums are doing and how it's working," Cuomo said. "...We already have an issue with Western New York with the infection rate. I am a Buffalo Bills fan and they had a great day yesterday and a great season. Beating the Patriots is a special pleasure."

Western New York had a 2.6 percent positive rate among those tested for coronavirus. The seven-day rolling average of positive cases is 2.3 percent, which marks the highest in all of New York State.

"Western New York has one of the highest infection rates in the State of New York and it has for weeks been problematic," Cuomo said. "That makes it more complicated. I would love to do it. I know Western New York would love to do it...I'm looking at the drawings in the stadium myself...We're working on it and there's no final decision."

The Bills next home game is this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
