Orchard Park, NY (WBEN) - One game into the new Highmark Stadium, long time Bills fans are getting used to some of the changes that a new facility brings.
Do the changes include a calmer crowd?
"I would say the crowd that parked in my lot was definitely a more mature, subdued crowd," said Eric "The Hammer" Matwijow, owner of the Hammer's Lot right in the shadow of the new stadium.
He said even the crowd for the famed "Ketchup and Mustard Ceremony" was smaller last Thursday than it typically has been.
Why the change? Was it opening night jitters? The late Thursday kickoff time? High ticket prices attracting a different crowd?
"Obviously everybody wants to be there for the opener, and if we have a couple dog games coming up the ticket prices will drop... and maybe you might have a turnover of the crowd later in the season," Matwijow said.
