Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Buffalo man has been convicted of trying to kill his girlfriend with a shovel.
A jury found 32 year old Julian Taylor guilty of attempted murder, assault and criminal weapons possession.
Prosecutors say on July 31st of last year, Taylor was arguing with his girlfriend outside their Greene Street home in Buffalo when he struck her with his hands until she fell onto the driveway, the struck her several times with the shovel before a witness intervened.
The victim, a 29-year-old female, was taken by ambulance to ECMC where she remained hospitalized for several weeks to receive treatment for serious physical injuries, including multiple skull fractures and injuries to her arms. Taylor faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced before State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges on Monday, August 24th.
He remains held without bail.
