BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo Zoo visitors will have to wear face masks inside all buildings and exhibits, regardless of vaccine status, effective Monday, August 2.
Those under the age of 3 do not need to wear a face covering.
The Zoo made the announcement in a Facebook post that read, in part, "We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our community safe. We look forward to welcoming you to the zoo."
Also starting Monday, all employees and visitors inside any Erie County-owned buildings will also need to wear a mask. And all employees and visitors at Buffalo City Hall will be required to wear a mask.
The changes are a result of Erie County now classified as being in a "substantial risk of transmission" category (over 50 cases per 100,000 people).
