Third suspect arrested in Club Marcella shooting

Police have not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests, as the investigation continues

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo Police announced Wednesday the arrest of a third suspect tied to the recent shooting at Club Marcella along Michigan Avenue early Sunday morning downtown.

28-year-old James Pardo of Buffalo was arraigned Wednesday afternoon before Buffalo City Court Judge Andrew LoTempio on one count of Gang Assault in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felony).

It is alleged that on Sunday, Dec. 3 at approximately 2:30 a.m. EST, the defendant was involved in a group assault of the victim while inside of a bathroom at Club Marcella. The 30-year-old male victim suffered a gunshot wound during the attack, and was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized with serious physical injuries.

Pardo is scheduled to return to court on Monday, Dec. 11 at 9:30 a.m. EST for a felony hearing.

The other two suspects in this case, 20-year-old Yeramell Benitez and 29-year-old Ramon Lopez, are scheduled to return on Friday, Dec. 8 at 9:30 a.m. EST for a felony hearing. All three suspects have been charged with the same crime.

All three defendants are being held without bail.

If convicted of the charge, the maximum sentence is 25 years in prison.
