Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Thousands of Buffalonians are making their way to the Broadway Market ahead of Easter Sunday.

For some people, like Linda and Mike, Easter wouldn't be the same without making the trip at least once.

"My family used to come here years ago when I was a little kid, and it's just tradition," stated Linda. "We're gonna get flowers. We got some plackik, we had some perogies. The whole nine yards."

"We come here every year, just for the ambiance and the culture and all that kind of stuff. The colors, the food, everything is just a great time."

One Buffalonian says it's been a tradition in her household for over 20 years and doesn't see that changing anytime soon.

"Obviously, we get the painted eggs every year. So I have, I think, 24. I get one every year. I buy the pierogis and the kielbasa from down on the end. My daughter's meeting me here with my grandson, it becomes kind of a family affair."

Laurie, who was out shopping with her sister, says this was her first time stepping into Broadway Market.

"It's pretty cool. It really is very neat. It's really exciting. Lots and lots of things to eat and see and do. We might not come on Holy Thursday again because it's pretty crowded. But other than that, it's really neat"
