Three rescued from partially submerged vehicle in Concord

Concord, N.Y. (WBEN) - An off-duty Buffalo Police Detective was responsible for the rescue of three elderly individuals from a partially submerged vehicle in the Town of Concord on Tuesday night.

Detective Ortiz was traveling near the Kissing Bridge Ski Resort around 9:20 p.m. ET when he spotted the sinking vehicle.

Deputies reported to the scene following the rescue.

Erie County Sherriff John Garcia commended Detective Ortiz for his quick reaction. Detective Ortiz is also second in command of the Buffalo Police Underwater Recovery Team.
