Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - Should there be no weather interruptions like last week in Orchard Park, the Buffalo Bills will be hosting the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday for a 6:30 p.m. EST kickoff in the AFC Divisional Round.
Ticket prices at the Highmark Stadium for Sunday have so far proven costly, according to Nick Giammusso of VIPTix.com.
"This Sunday's game tickets are right around $205 [per ticket] and up for a nosebleed seat, you can get a 50-yard line seat for about $600," said Giammusso on Wednesday in an interview with WBEN.
Giammusso says there's some good news for Bills fans, though.
"We're not seeing a lot of Kansas City fans come here on a short notice, that's expected," he said. "Kansas City is a far drive and of course in January with the weather, it would be problematic for Chiefs fans to come to Buffalo."
However, there will always be some amount of interest from opposing fans.
"I've gotten quite a few calls from Kansas City. Not too many have pulled the trigger yet, but right now, they just seem to be calling and getting prices, and probably trying to arrange some travel. But I don't expect a lot of Chiefs fans in Western New York over the weekend," Giammusso said. "But we'll see how it how it plays out here in the next couple of days."
FinanceBuzz's Senior Content Marketer Josh Koebert says there are many analytical playoff trends that suggest that come closer to game time, the prices of tickets will go down. He took the divisional round of playoff games from 2022, as an example.
"Tickets were about $500 a ticket the week before the game happened. We found the day before the game in the divisional rounds last year, they were 15% cheaper, they're about $420 only. They day of, they were about 10% cheaper than they were a week out, so they were only about $435," said Koebert during an interview with WBEN on Wednesday.

Giammusso says, though, some may not want to risk it for a potential 10% savings.
"As we get closer, we actually expect prices to go up, just because of the supply, that's the tickets that are out there," he said. "With the weather, everybody kind of seems to be on a holding pattern. If the weather breaks this weekend, I'll definitely expect prices to go up rather than down, but if the weather is terrible, you can expect a similar pattern to last week."
