Tonawanda man faces life in prison for machete murder

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Tonawanda man has been indicted in connection to a murder involving a machete in September of 2023.

Adalberto Bermudez, 46, is accused of murdering 39-year-old Jose Barreto-Gonzalez in the victim's apartment on Isabelle Street in Buffalo.

According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office, Bermudez repeatedly struck Baretto-Gonzalez with the machete. Bermudez has been charged with one count of second degree murder.

Bermudez faces 25 years-to-life in prison.
