Lockport, NY (WBEN) If you're looking for another sign warmer weather is coming, get your popcorn ready. The Transit Drive-In Theater opens for the season Friday.
This is the second season Dipson Theaters is operating the Drive-In after acquiring it last year. "I am just as excited as last year and a little bit more informed and knowledgeable about the way that the drive-in operates," says Jordan Clement.
Clement says the main goal is to keep the fun, family-friendly environment the same. "But as far as some of the different stuff that we're doing, we're trying to make everything a little bit more streamlined," says Clement, as he's adding a second butter machine and doing something a little bit different with the entryways to be able to get all the cars in and off Transit Road safely. "We just put in a new playground for the children on screen one. And this year, I think we're going to redo mini golf and try to get it up to up to date," adds Clement.

Clement says he's looking forward to "The Little Mermaid" on Memorial Day weekend, which traditionally is the transition from being open only on weekends to seven night a week operation. "Personally, I'm looking forward to 'Spider Man.' There's a new Spider-Verse coming out. We're getting Indiana Jones, we're getting 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' and Transformers," adds Clement.
If you're planning on a night at the drive-in, he says come early. "With such great movies coming out and a limited screen capacity at the drive-in, the earlier that you show up and get in line the better and it is more likely that you will get a parking spot on nights where we are extremely busy, especially on weekends, Fridays and Saturdays," advises Clement.
Among the movies playing beginning Friday night, "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves," and "65."
