Two arrested after drug bust in Buffalo

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Two Buffalo men have been arrested after a serach of two buildings yesterday.

Erie County Sheriff's Deputies say their SWAT team took 46 year old Benathan Cook of Buffalo into custody on Grider Street. Deputies say they seized drug paraphernalia from that home.


Buffalo Police SWAT team executed a search warrant on Carl Street and took 41 year old Maurice Ruttlen into custody. Deputies say cocaine, drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency were seized from the residence. Three dogs were also located outside the Carl St. residence. Deputies says the dogs did not have access to food or water and appeared to be malnourished. They were turned over to Buffalo Animal Control.

Ruttlen and Cook have both been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia, and injuring animals by failing to provide proper sustenance.
